HOTFIX: The SMS Executive Service may stop unexpectedly when you add or update packages from distribution points

When you add or update a package from many distribution points (e.g. more than 100) in System Center 2012 Configuration Manager (ConfigMgr 2012), the SMS Executive Service may stop unexpectedly. Additionally, entries that resemble the following are logged in the Distmgr.log file before the process ends:

Wait failed while waiting for all DP threads to end. Thread Count = 94, Error = 87
Distribution Manager tried 100 times, it will exit now

Note that the log entries do not always indicate a problem state that will cause the process to end.
