imageHi everyone, Prabhat Joshi here with a tip on an interesting issue I ran into the other day. When running ConfigMgr 2012 reports that use the reporting service, sometimes the Configuration Manager images do not show up in the reports. So what causes these images to go missing and how do you fix it? First, we need to understand where these images come from.

When we use reporting services with Configuration Manager, it creates a database named ConfigMgr_<Site code> and then copies the reports inside it to the corresponding named folders. You can see those corresponding folders that contain the reports in either the Tile view or Details view. There is also a hidden folder inside ConfigMgr_<Site code> named Report Resources which is only visible in the Details view, as you can see in the screen shot below.

Inside this Hidden folder we have the different ConfigMgr images that we see in the reports. If you download a report and open the *.rdl file , you will find that it is trying to pull the images from that location, as shown below.

What happens is that sometimes after installing the Reporting Services point, these images do not get copied over to this hidden folder as demonstrated below.

Thus, when we run the reports we get an “X” icon on the place of images.

OK, so how do we resolve this?  In the Report Resources folder, upload the images from the SMS_SRSRP\Style folder which is present on the server where we have the reporting services running and reporting services point installed.

Now that we’ve restored our missing images, when you run your reports they should now start showing up.
