This article describes how to enable console usage and client access license (CAL) reports in Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (Configuration Manager 2007) 2007 and in Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003.
To enable console usage and CAL reports, use one of the following methods.
Method 1
Enable the SMS_SystemConsoleUsage class that polls the Security event log for information about console usage.Method 2
Enable auditing of the logon policy. To do this, follow these steps:- In Control Panel, open the "Administrative Tools" folder, and then double-click Local Security Policy.
- Under Security Settings, expand Local Policies, and then click Audit Policy. Next, right-click Audit logon events in the right pane, and then click Properties.
- In the Audit these attempts section, click to select the Success check box, and then click OK.
